ANCEA Meeting with nominations being taken

Hello all,

On May 8th 2004, ANCEA will hold it's next general
meeting from 10:00 am-to 12:00 PM. at the Grace Moore
Library in Tacoma.

This is a very significant meeting because, it's for
nominations for the next ANCEA President and
Treasurer.

As many of you know, I will be stepping down after
four years as President. This is something I feel
needs to be done to encourage growth in the
organization. Plus, I need a rest after six years at
the top (President plus Con Chair plus Op's Director,
Hotel Liasion etc).

It has been my singular pleasure to serve you all and
help this organization grow to what it's become. I
remember back in 98 when myself and those that founded
it kept at it because 'we could' and wanted it to
work. Through the years many of you came onboard and
are still here making this what it is today.

I have to say, I have never worked with a finer group
of people in any organization I have ever been with.
And, I have founded one other and served on the Boards
of many.

ANCEA and Sakura Con have a bright future. Because of
everyone's dedication we are #1 in the Northwest in
terms of attendance, and I feel quality. I also wish
to thank the staff of Anime Evolution and Kumori-Con
that also were there this past weekend. I want to see
them succeed even more, just as SC has. I offer my
help as an advisor to them if desired.

You're all wonderful people. I've enjoyed serving you.

See you at the ANCEA nomination meeting.

Thank you.

ANCEA Mascot/Logo Contest Update

As stated from the ANCEA President, the contest for the ANCEA Mascot/Logo has now been extended to the next ANCEA meeting in June. Submissions may also be taken online currently here. Please be sure and read all the rules of submission before uploading an entry! Thank you for your cooperation!

ANCEA ANNOUNCES NEW CONTEST FOR LOGO AND MASCOT!

Dear friends,

The Asia-Northwest Cultural Education Association (ANCEA) has decided to update our image. Along with some changes coming up, we will also be updating our current ANCEA logo and adding a new one-a mascot.

The current ANCEA logo is listed on our website (www.ancea.org) and was designed by artist Jason Kirckof in 2001. Jason for his efforts was given a free ANCEA membership, a free Sakura Con 2002 membership, and a t-shirt.

This time around, we're sweetening the pot.

The winning logo or mascot designer will receive the following:

(1. Free membership to ANCEA for one year

(2. Free membership to Sakura Con 2005

(3. Become the ANCEA Guest of Honor at Sakura Con 2005! This means you will receive preferential seating at all events at Sakura Con 2005, a free ticket to the Guest Reception, and an invitation to display your work at either Artists Alley or the Art Show.

Deadline for entries: May 8, 2004 ANCEA Meeting.

This is a golden opportunity for any of you to have your work seen by thousands depending on the future, as well as be recognized by many influential people.

Remember, we are looking for a new logo AND a new mascot so, there are TWO chances to win for two lucky artists.

Designs must indicate a northwest feel to something that is also uniquely Asian. Example: Our current design is two mountains, Mt. Rainer, and Mt. Fuji with the name ANCEA joining them together.

Send all entries before May 8th 2004 to:

ANCEA
P.O. Box 44976
Tacoma, Washington, 98444

Look forward to seeing what we get!

Respectfully,

Daniel Harrison
President

Hello all,

As President of the Asia-Northwest Cultural Education
Association, I want to thank each and every one of you
that helped assist in the Anime Weekend at the Museum
of Glass. The event was a huge success. The panels
went well, the anime was well attended, and the
support by SC and SC memberships sold was nothing less
then outstanding.

You all deserve a great big kudos! Thanks again. I
have received a letter from Aaron Welch describing
their numbers, I will post it here for all to see.
They also are drafting an official letter for our
archives and non-profit purposes.

A HUGE thank you to all my lecturers who helped with
the anime screenings prior to the event. Your support
is MUCH MUCH appreciated!

Those of you still due to lecture, represent us well
and have fun!

Once again, thanks to everyone that helped!
